II Legal basis for the processing operations carried out by Messe Frankfurt

Processing necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or for the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at your request

Your data may be collected in order to take pre-contractual and contractual measures. This will be the case if you are an employee of Messe Frankfurt, a customer, a supplier or a candidate for a position.

Please refer to the documents of the relevant contract for the subject matter to be covered and the data then required.

If you give us your consent (in the event that you are a consumer), we may use your data to inform you about our events and services. To this end, we will also relay your data to the companies of the Messe Frankfurt group and, if necessary, to its representative in your country. You have the right to revoke your consent at any time with immediate effect.

In this context, Messe Frankfurt may, for example, retain certain personal data in order to enable it to defend itself and/or exercise its rights in court.

The legitimate interest of Messe Frankfurt

Beyond the fulfilment of our contractual, regulatory or legal obligations, we may process your personal data in order to protect the legitimate interests of Messe Frankfurt or third parties.

IV Transmissions to third countries

With your consent or to meet contractual, legal or regulatory obligations, we transmit data to our group companies and sales representatives in third countries. Insofar as these entities sign the Commission's standard contractual clauses, they are obliged to comply with the European level of data protection. The data will be deleted earlier if your knowledge is no longer necessary or if the purposes disappear.

In addition, a minimum retention period, from legislative or regulatory sources, exists for certain data. In case of relevance and in accordance with commercial and tax law, a maximum retention period of 10 years from the end of the fiscal year could, for example, be decided in respect of data processed for accounting management purposes.
